Piggy Bank Rosé comes from the Pezenas area and the Bassin de Thau, so a coastal influence is obvious in the vineyards – aged between 8-25 years - which have gravel and sandy soils. In September 2011, the conditions for harvest were particularly warm and dry, so picking was early in the morning to preserve freshness. The grapes were macerated for six to ten hours before their juice was drained and settled for 48 hours. Fermentation was in stainless steel tanks, controlled at a relatively cool 16-18oC.

WINEMAKER: Thierry Boudinaud
We are privileged to work with Thierry, who is one of the most dynamic winemakers in southern France. He has a tremendous network of growers and access to the best grapes. His ancestors established their own domaine in 1626, so his roots are well and truly in the southern Rhône valley. Thanks to his experience of making the hugely popular Fat Bastard and La Châsse wines, he knows how to create wines especially appealing to export markets with a distinctive, balanced style - fruit orientated, complex, and elegant.
