Aged for three years in the cellars of Bodegas Navalon in the small DO Valdepeñas, located in the heart of Spain. Bodegas Navalon has been the passion of the same local family for several generations. It specializes in producing classic, oak-aged Spanish red wines that are only released when they have reached the peak of perfection.

The Tempranillo grapes were hand-picked in late August / early September 2008 from 30 year old vines in stony Valdepeñas vineyards. The soil is clayey lime and the climate continental - cold winters and hot, dry summers. Fermentation was at controlled temperatures (below 28º C) in stainless steel tanks. The wine was then matured for at least six months in French and American oak barriques. Malolactic fermentation occurred. This wine is naturally fined by gravity and is therefore suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

87 Points (2007 vintage) - Wine Advocate, Issue # 195, June 2011

“The 2007 Crianza was aged in French and American oak. Notions of cedar, spice box, a hint of balsamic, and black cherry lead to a savory, smooth-textured, surprisingly complex wine meant for drinking over the next 3 - 4 years.”

Crianza wines undergo a minimum aging period of 24 months in oak barrels with a maximum capacityof 330 liters.
